Is knuckles a good dogs name?

That depends if you like it. But, if yiu name it Knuckles, the dog should be tough. Not small and weak. Big and tough (or small and tough if its a bull dog.) Cuz picture a tiny little cocker spaniel named spike. that would be weird. But if you think it suits the dog, go for it.
