How to Put a Cover On Your Notebook?

You could prolong the life of a notebook with such a simple task as putting a cover on it. Book covers are easily available in any stationery shop. You can select from among various patterns and colors. Buy these covers, and read on to find out the correct way to put it on a notebook.

▪ Lay the cover flat on a table. The side of the cover that will be hidden should be on top. Most book covers are sold as rolls. If that is the case, you might have to roll the cover in the opposite direction to prevent it from curling in when you are working. Then lay it on the table.

▪ Fold the cover in half. This should be a very mild fold, just for your reference.

▪ Place the notebook such that its spine rests on this middle line. It should leave an equal space of the cover from the top and the bottom. Let us call this space of the cover, which will be tucked into the book later, as the extra space.

▪ Now, hold the book open. Take a pencil and draw little niches on the top and bottom of the extra space of the cover, just corresponding with the spine. Then cut these niches with a pair of scissors.

▪ Placing the book firmly in the cover, tuck in all the extra space. Make sharp folds as you tuck in each edge. Your book is fully covered now.

▪ Making sure which the right side of the book is, stick an attractive book label where you would like to put it.

You will need to cover notebooks often and hence this is an important skill to have, especially if there are school-going kids in the house. Covering their notebooks can be a fun experience for them and you as well.
