How did Augustus want to be remembered?

Emperor August, the first Roman emperor, cared much about how history would remember him. He had various pieces of art created after him that depicted him as strong and dignified. It was important that he be seen as bringing Rome into an era of peace. He also wanted to emphasize his value for family.
