No, after rice is planted it needs to be submerged under water for many weeks there are levees built around the ground that is planted and the land has to be level so the water doesn't run to one side that would cause the high ground to have little to no water and would burn up in the summer sun and have to much water on the low side of the ground where no sun at all could get to it
