The Ancestral Puebloans, often referred to as the Anasazi, did not use money in the way we understand it today. Instead, they engaged in a barter system, trading goods and services directly. Items such as pottery, baskets, and food were commonly exchanged, along with valuable materials like turquoise and shells, which served as trade items across long distances. This system facilitated their social and economic interactions within and between communities.
