How do you hack pinball?

You use the flippers, controlled by the buttons on either side, to try and not let the ball drain down the middle. Depending on the game, most have 3 balls per game and nearly all have different rules but you generally use the flippers to get the ball to hit the targets that are flashing. But the rules are different on every machine.
