Who left the Alamo twice to get help but got no avail?

James Bowie and William B. Travis were among the defenders of the Alamo who sought help during the siege. However, it was actually James Bowie who, due to illness, was unable to leave the Alamo for assistance. Ultimately, the lack of reinforcements led to the fall of the Alamo in March 1836.
