Car electrics problems no indicators working car will not start - burning smell coming from inside the car oil indicator lit up but oil ok?

What kind of car would help. Burning smell is probably a shorted wire. Why it shorted is the next question. Blew one or more fuses or possible a fuse-able link. Has any work been done on the car? Stereo or alarm installed? That would be the first place to look for a short if you don't see something. Which fuse is blown, if there is one, can point you in the right direction.
