fishing licence costs vary on what age you are and how long you wish it to be valid from with the minimum being 1 day and the maximum being one year also depending on what type of fishing you wish to do. if you wish to do freshwater fishing you will need to buy a coarse fishing licence if you wish to do game fishing you will need to buy a salmon and sea trout licence. Below is a table with the current licence prices for 1st april 2011 to 31st march 2012

coarse fishing salmon and sea trout

full season : £27 full season : £72

over 65s and disabled : £18 over 65s and disabled : £48

8 day licence : £10 8 day licence : £23

full season licences expire at midnight on the 31st march each year regardless of when they were purchased

you can fish with up to two rods on one licence if you are using 3 or four rods you must posess two licences

the maximum number of rods anyone can use an any one time by law is 4 regardless of how many licences you hold

sea fishing currently requires no licencing whatsoever
