Spriters Resource is an Excellent, user-friendly place to find and upload sprites. For animated sprites, just jump on google Images and search the character or enemy. For example, Mario MLSS. gif or Bowser animation MLSS.gif. BTW, you might be interested in Ridge Troopa's animations on deviantart.
