How does a smoke alarm work?

There are two kinds of smoke detectors. 1. When a fire burns, it releases smoke. The smoke detector senses the smoke. 2. A fire is very hot. The detector feels the heat. A smoke detector will then either set off an alarm, or it will turn on the sprinklers.
