Yes, vertical alignment options are available. If you go to the Format menu, the Cells and then Alignment, you will find options there for doing it. You will only see the impact of it, if the row you are working in is higher than normal, in order to give space for the vertical alignment to happen. You can have top, middle and bottom alignment.
