Does a lily symbolise death

In Christian art and on Christian tombstones, it symbolizes the death of an earthly life. For Adam and Eve chose knowledge of good and evil, over life. And so the lily grew from the tears that Eve shed for having to leave Paradise. But it's also a symbol of purity. For Joseph has been painted with a lily branch, as the symbol of Mary. And so it symbolizes the purity of the soul passing on to spiritual life.
