'Emo' is a stereotype that is used to judge people for how they act, dress or the actions they take.

Emo stands for emotional. 'Emo' is a stereotype often used against people who are associated with the following:

- Self-harm.

- Have dark coloured side-fringed hairstyles with bright coloured highlights.

- Like hardcore punk and screamo type genres of music.

but not ALL emos self-harm, many people just assume this, which can be quite hurtful for people if you think they self harm just by judging on their appearance. I've been asked if i self harm, because of my style ect. i don't though, i don't see the point in it, because the only person you are hurting and affecting is yourself.
