What can people who are different from us teach us about ourselves?

Absolutely nothing. Now before I get "dog-piled" upon, keep reading. There is nothing in the world that can teach us anything unless we are open and receptive to change. Learning is change. And, learning is what "we" do when we assimilate new information or evolve our knowledge. "Teaching" presumes to make us slaves to another in a tabula rasa, empty vessels paradigm. No one teaches you anything; either you learn with the facilitation of others, or you don't. Now to more directly address the intent of the question: the possibilities are endless, and it relies heavily on what you bring to the conversation or transaction. In essence, what do you want to learn?
