No. Gold is too expensive, and there is barely enough gold in the world to account for a monument the size of the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty is and always has been made of steel.

Actually the guy above me is wrong...steel wouldn't explain the green... the only thing that would oxidize into that green shade is a malleable copper that would appear gold.... so pretty much yeah, gold to the eye, but cheap copper... it'd look pretty cool tho...
