How do you know if its a scam?

1. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

2. If you type the company name into google, and it fills in with the Word "scam".

3. If it is offering large amounts of money for little skills, less effort, and even less time.

4. If the site or ad contains "testimonials".

5. If it requires you paying up front for a large amount of money later.

6. Anything involving refugee camps, the "Spanish Prisoner" scam of the 21st century.

7. Anything from Nigeria, especially involving money transfers.

8. Offers of illegal and semi-legal products, such as imitation goods or movies/songs.

9. If it offers something that you have been unable to get legally and locally.

10. If you must "act now" during this "limited time" for an offer that "won't last".

11. Anything involving Multi-Level Marketing, or what your granddad knew as a Pyramid Scam.

12. Amway, Herbalife, or any other "opportunity" that relies more on you recruiting others to sell, rather than actually selling.

13. Any company that is shy about saying who they are in the ad or on the site.

14. Any person of the opposite sex you meet online, who is having - through no fault of their own, of course - financial difficulties.

15. Any one who comes to you with an investment opportunity - the real opportunities are so good that those folks don't have to look for business.
