How KCL is applicable for a closed surface?

Kirchhoff's current law (KCL) is not directly applicable to a closed surface as it is used to analyze current flow at a node in an electrical circuit. However, when dealing with closed surfaces in electromagnetic theory, one may use Gauss's law to analyze electric flux passing through the surface.
