How do you unlock new towns in the sims3?

To unlock Riverview, you first have to register your game at sims3.com. Then you'll be able to download riverview at The Sims 3 store. Let the sims 3 launcher load, then after it's done downloading click install. Load your game, and add a new game. Choose Riverview and it'll be there.
