Frances Buss Founded the North London collegiate school in 1850, this was a private school with maths and latin included in the curriculem. She believed that woman had the same intllect as boys and encouraged girls to compete for civil service, enter examinations and continue to higher education. In 1871 this school becamase a grammer school because she wanted to offer education to girls who couldn't afford to pay for private school. This was important is showing that equal education was possible and provided framework for future reform's. She also worked alongside Emily Davis to campaing for allowing women to enter examinations in oxford and cambridge, and they agreed to lok into sex discriminations.

She was also part of the Kensington society which formed the London suffrage comitee, who were part of campainging for womans suffrage and getting the vote. Lastly she helped Josephine butler with the reapal of the Contagious dieases act.
