How do routers affect internet connection speed?

There is a little trick you can do with ISP modems you see your ISP (internet service provider limits the speed of your connection this works for some routers depends on your ISP if you are not familiar with the configuration of setting up your modem don't do this as you will be doing something that is called hard resetting of the router when you do this your router will forget all configurations it had previously so you would have to know how to set it again

OK get your router hold down the reset button at the back for 30s while doing this unplug the power to the router keep holding down the reset button for another 30s so after 60s you will be plugging the power back on while holding the reset button for another 30s so that's a total of 90s that you held down the reset button for voila done if you are unsure how to set it back up make sure you have someone there to help you with this.
