Why shouldn't you use a cell phone while driving?

Driving any vehicle requires the full attention of the driver. When a driver is also chatting away on the phone, they are not fully aware of everything happening about them while traveling about 45 feet per second on the freeway. It should be totally illegal to use a cell phone while driving - there isn't anything THAT important in life that simply can't possibly wait for a few minutes or an hour.

A few years ago, there were no cell phones - people got along just fine without them then and made decent livings and paid their bills, and accomplished lots ob business transactions without the need to chat about them 24/7 as in today's life.
