Is chat halal or haram in Islam?

Halal is an Arabic Word that means allowed or licit. Haram is an Arabic Word that means forbidden or prohibited.

It is not chat itself to be judged as halal or haram. It is what chat about that may be halal or haram.

If chat is about good and useful subjects as religious issues, studies, talking about good social issues, good advices, etc... then chat is halal.

if chat is about sex, persuading to do/say something against God commands and prophet Muhammad teachings, talking in bad about others, encouraging enmity against others, etc... then chat is haram.
