Why is the alarm going off on your hyumdie santa fe?

On my 2007 Santa Fe it was the hood switch that was not operating correctly. Hyundai uses a ridiculous little micro-switch for this purpose. The easy fix is to open the hood, find the black electrical connector that goes to the micro-switch, located beside the hood latch mechanism, and disconnect it. Problem solved...who needs an alarm on the hood! The rest of the alarm system will continue to work just fine.
