Newton Booth (born December 30, 1825 in Salem, Indiana; died July 14, 1892 in Sacramento, California) succeeded Henry Huntly Haight as the eleventh Governor of California, serving between December 8, 1871 and February 27, 1875, including the whole of 1873.
