How do you rift valleys form?

When a tectonic plate splits into two components, they drift apart. The gap that is between the two parting plates is a rift valley.

The most famous rift valley is the African Rift Valley'

It streches from; north to South ; Dead Sea, River, Jordan, Gulf of Aqaba, Red Sea, Denekil Depreion of Ethiopia, Ethiopian Highlnds, then splitsto either side of Lake Victoria, Lake Tanganyika, & Lake Nyasa.

The north eatern part is already the Arabian Peninsula, To the south through eastern Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawai, and northern Mozambique will separate from the remainder of the African Continent.
