Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, is located in the Northern Territory of Australia, approximately 450 kilometers (280 miles) southwest of Alice Springs. It is situated within the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and is a prominent sandstone monolith that rises dramatically from the surrounding flat landscape. The site is of great cultural significance to the Anangu people, the traditional custodians of the land.
