What is the origin of hyacinth?

Hyacinth was a Spartan young man who was learning discus from Apollo and Zephyr. Zephyr was jealous of the attention that Apollo paid to the young man so he made the wind hit Hyacinth in the head. Apollo used the blood of Hyacinth and turned him into a flower.
