How do you make a bow in minecraft in 1.8.1?

Without modding, there is only a regular bow in minecraft. That is, three sticks in a sideways V and three string in a vertical line on the opposite side of the crafting table. You can enchant bows to add different effects, but there is only one craftable bow.
