When was graffiti first used?

Graffiti has been used since ancient times, with some of the earliest examples found in the ruins of ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome, dating back to around 30,000 BC. These early forms often included simple markings and symbols. Modern graffiti, characterized by more elaborate styles and techniques, began to emerge in the late 1960s and early 1970s in urban areas, particularly in New York City.
