Early in the American Revolutionary War, most battles occurred in the northern colonies. Key conflicts, such as the Battles of Lexington and Concord, Bunker Hill, and Saratoga, were primarily located in New England and the Mid-Atlantic regions. While the southern colonies did see some skirmishes, the majority of significant early engagements took place in the north as the war began.
