Youth is gullible because they haven't lived long enough to wise up to the fact that if they are independent and solid on their feet they don't buy into the garbage put out in cheap rags, Hollywood gossip programs or magazines. What is in today is out tomorrow! The perfect woman was egged on by Playboy and magazines of this type. Men drooled over them, but didn't realize these beautiful women (although many had great figures) had plastic surgery, breast enlargements, tummy tucks, their bodies sprayed with powder to make them look flawless. This was the downfall of how SOME women felt and they knew they couldn't keep up with the unreality of it all. Real women can't possibly look like the calendar girl or a Playboy bunny because she doesn't have time. Then the movies started with Jean Harlow in the 20's (platinum blond) and so many women dyed their hair this color it looked like a sea of bobbing platinum blond heads. Along came Marilyn Monroe and some women also tried to copy her. Things began to change when people actually stood up and took notice to good acting skills and women that weren't one of the #10 beautiful people such as Bette Davis, Cathy Bates, etc., were reigned in high regard rather than how beautiful they were. Actually Bette Davis was almost not hired on as an actress because she was directly told by the head of one of the StudiOS she was too plain looking! Cathy Bates was told she was too fat! So what do these guys know! Nada! As they say, 'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.'
