Can you get cancer from lead pellets?

Before answering, this is my story. My birthday was the 12th of December and I received a pellet gun. Without a though I put it together and tried it. Today is 1/8/16 my birthday was last year i'm 14 years old and I have a habit of chewing on things. So without thinking or reading the back I made a dumb mistake, yes!, I put the pellet in my mouth and I chewed on it then spit it out. 3 days ago I read the back of the package and realized it said "These pellets contain a chemical known to the state of California that can cause cancer" I have many reasons to be worried. And today is Friday therefore i'm at school so on Tuesday, I will look at this for reply's at 1:30PM. BTW i'm the one who asked this question.
