Following the end of Willis' term as Governor of Ohio, James M. Cox (born March 31, 1870 in Jacksonburg, Ohio; died July 15, 1957 in Kettering, Ohio) became the forty-eighth Governor of Ohio, serving between January 8, 1917 and January 10, 1921.
