By buying fairtrade products you ensure that the person whom the product came from was paid a fair amount, and that they were not abused or forced to work in horrid conditions like those of sweat shops. It also ensures that they were not treated unfairly, or paid tiny wages.

If you by standard products, there is a chance that they might have come from or been made by people working in sweatshops. This means that the person working really hard to make your product might have been paid a tiny wage to work 7 days a week. Wages can sometimes be less than £4 for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week!
