Where do you go after mount pyre in Pokemon sapphire?

At the very entrance just keep going up then left and there is a door with something that looks like a rug in front of it (just like the one where you enter from.) After that you'll begin the climb of Mt Pyre: go right then up the stairs (in the grass on that level and the upper level you can find vulpix) then just keep going up the stairs and soon you'll find a pair of guards defeat them go up and you'll find maxie or whatever his name is at the top of mt pyre along with two elders.
