Jesus never said please or thank you and often sounded rude - even to his mother. To the Samaritan woman at the well, "Give me a drink of water". To Peter, "Put your sWord back in its place". To Thomas, "Put you finger in my side. Stop doubting and believe". To the Virgin Mary, "Woman, what have you to do with this?" (Cana Wedding after the wine ran out and Mary asked Jesus for help). To the Jewish priests and temple guards and pharisees and money changers, "Stop making my Father's house a marketplace!!". Jesus never said, "Gather 'round everyone please. I have something important to say." He never said, "John, please pass the bread and sauce." When the teachers of the Law asked Jesus, "Surely you don't mean that we are blind too?" Jesus did not reply, "Heavens no! What I meant was...". Jesus just came right out and said, "If you were blind, then you would not be guilty. But because you claim that you can see, you are still guilty." Jesus did give thanks to God. He gave thanks when he broke the loaves of bread and multiplied them. CONCLUSION: If you want to project authority and show your authority, don't be polite. My drill instructor at Basic Training never told me to, "Please drop and give me 20". And afterward, "Thank you."
