Why do people put Christmas angels on the Christmas tree?

Some people put angels on their Christmas tree, while others put stars. Either way, both angels and stars featured prominently in the nativity of Jesus. Angels proclaimed Christ's birth to the shepherds, while a bright star led the Wise men to the Christ-child. Having them displayed prominently on a Christmas tree reminds us of the real meaning of Christmas.
