What is the purpose of CU and ALU?

The Control Unit (CU) orchestrates the operations of a computer's CPU by directing the flow of data between the processor, memory, and input/output devices, essentially managing the execution of instructions. The Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU) performs all arithmetic and logical operations, such as addition, subtraction, and comparisons.
