ThE population in Massachusetts was very very low in colonial times only a few 1000 but on the rise. Most people didn't want to come to Massachusetts then because they either feared they would be killed by savages/native Americans even though most were friendly or being killed by the brutal winters. The only people that came were

those who's ship got of track like the pilgrims. Now the population of Massachusetts is high it's actually decreasing slowly for a reason I don't know. Even though towns like Ashland Massachusetts seem to have more people than before but actually people come and leave Ashland. Even the population in Boston goes mostly down then up. The population was 6,429,000 then slowly went down to 6,410,000 or something like that.
