Where do the Lakota come from?

The Lakota people are a Native American tribe originally from the Great Plains region of North America, particularly in areas that are now part of South Dakota, Nebraska, Montana, and Wyoming. They are one of the three main divisions of the Sioux Nation, along with the Dakota and Nakota. Historically, the Lakota were nomadic, following buffalo herds and living in tipis, and they developed a rich culture centered around their connection to the land and spirituality.
