Why do so many tourists visit Venice?

Venice has a large number of tourist attractions. It has a large amount of historical art museums, churches, Opera houses, among other things. It also has beautiful old historical architecture that most modern cities lack. The most unique thing about Venice, though, is that it is a city made up of 118 tiny islands which stress across the land through canals.
