How do you put the apple of eden in your pocket in assassins creed brotherhood?

The ability to have the Apple of Eden is only available through a couple of story missions and is locked as a constant weapon. this means that while playing the part of the campaign in which you have the Apple, you can only use the Apple, and in missions in which you don't have the Apple, then you cannot acquire it.
