It's about the same as shaving, but you can't cut yourself. You wax/shave, it grows back in a little while, and you wax/shave again! It's the same process, just less risky. i dont agree with the above.. um waxing helps A LOT.. it will reduce the amount of hair.. plus after waxing for so long, you get used to it.. it wont hurt no more.. plus putting ice helps.. if pain is an issue.. yes the hair thins out as you wax more.. and it becomes more fine. if you wax your taking off the top layer only resulting in faster growing hair.. like when you cute grass or scalp hair.. it grows back fast and thick. waxing is much better.. just remember to moisterize because it dries skin fast.
Actually, the second answer is correct. Waxing makes the skin smoother and the hairs will lessen over time. Shaving on the other hand does not make your hair thicker, nor does it reduce the amount of hair on your body. Instead, the hair is bound to grow back quicker than it is with wax. Waxing basically pulls the hair from its roots, thus causing it to lessen in growth and thickness overtime. However, waxing differs with everyone and it is better to know whether or not you could handle wax and what type of wax too. It is painful at first, but it'll become more familar overtime.
