Should schools have least one armed police officer on duty while students are present?

This is a debatable question.

On one hand, police officers provide a sense of safety and security, and can help protect the student body. Seeing an armed officer also might deter school shooters.

On the other, police officers remind parents and students that there are bad people in the world, and having a gun in school unsettles some people.
