Saltwater crocodiles can reach speeds of up to 20 miles per hour (32 km/h) in short bursts when swimming, while Great White Sharks can swim at speeds of about 25 miles per hour (40 km/h) in short bursts as well. While both are incredibly fast in their respective environments, the great white shark has a slight edge in speed. However, saltwater crocodiles are known for their powerful ambush tactics, making them formidable predators in their habitats.
