Just for those who do not know, acetaminophen or paracetamol is a widely used over-the-counter analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It is commonly used for the relief of fever, headaches, and other minor aches and pains, and is a major ingredient in numerous cold and flu remedies. Acetaminophen is generally safe for children, as it was marketed as a pain and fever reliever for children, under the brand name Tylenol (the Word "tylenol" was a contraction of para-acetylaminophenol).
However, the effect to infants may be negative. In 2008 a study conducted in 31 countries on over 200,000 children indicates that infants who are given paracetamol may be at an increased risk of developing Asthma as children.
