Why is international law weak?

International law is often considered weak due to its reliance on state consent and the lack of a centralized enforcement mechanism. Unlike domestic law, which has clear authorities and jurisdictions, international law depends on voluntary compliance and cooperation among states. Additionally, power imbalances and political interests can lead to selective enforcement, undermining its overall effectiveness.
