Why the smoke alarm beeps when you take a shower?

Some smoke detectors use ionizing radiation to sense smoke and it can become confused with water vapor (steam), which is why ionizing smoke detectors are not allowed anywhere near sources of steam.

Try replacing it with a photo-electric detector and make sure it's outside of the immediate area of the shower (i.e., in the bedroom or out in the hallway).
