What does it mean when you dream of someones house burning down?

The meaning of the dream depends very much on whether it is the dreamer's house, or somebody else's house, that is burning. Such a dream is unlikely to be predictive, but to symbolize a disaster that is or has already taken place. This dream could also represent a change or transformation that has or needs to take place....House could represent you and fire purifies.(If a house was actually on fire in reality, it would not remain in the same state, the fire would change the former state. Then perhaps a new house would have to be built/restored).
